What will I learn?
Your training will involve:
- Stretching and Warmups
- Basic skills and form
- Learning taiko pieces (songs)
- Performance techniques
Is taiko suitable for children?
The training is very suitable for children (from upper primary level) through to adults, and we will try hard to accommodate any special requirements you might have.
Do I need special clothing?
No. Wear suitable loose and comfortable clothing, and bring a drink bottle.
Some of our members train barefoot, but we recommend a normal pair of joggers.
Do I have to be really fit?
No, an average level of fitness is fine.
Every activity is optional, and it is up to each individual to decide whether they are up to it or not.
Do I need musical experience?
No previous musical experience is neccessary, nor do you need the ability to read music.
What is the cost for training?

Where do you train?
Our training room is on the second floor, 54 Albert Road Moonah, above Amplify fitness.
We train on Thursday nights, from 6.30 to 8.15 pm.
Is there an age limit?
There is no upper age limit for taiko.
